Does Fitbit connect to Strava?

Yes, officiallyOne way, into Strava

Yes, one way. The Fitbit app became the Google Health app in May 2026, and Google Health sends new activities from your Fitbit or Pixel Watch to Strava automatically. Nothing you record on Strava comes back through the integration any more.

What it costs

Neither Strava nor Google mentions a charge or a required subscription for the connection.

How to set it up

  1. If you connected Fitbit and Strava before the switch to Google Health, reconnect. Old links keep working but only carry GPS rides, runs, hikes and walks.
  2. In the Google Health app, tap Connections in the top left, then Partner apps (Android) or Apps and services (iOS), then Strava. If you have never connected, it's under Add connections.
  3. Authorize with your Google Account, tap Agree and continue, log in to Strava and tap Authorize. Make sure you accept the option to upload your activities from Google Health to Strava.
  4. You can also start from Strava: You, then Settings, then Connect an app or device, then Google Health.
  5. To pick which activity types go to Strava, open the Strava connection in Google Health and tap Activity writing.

What reaches Strava

  • New activities logged in Google Health, of any type, with or without GPS, filtered by the types you tick under Activity writing
  • Activities from Fitbit trackers and Pixel Watch alike.

Limitations and gotchas

  • Nothing comes back from Strava through the integration. Strava and Google both say activities logged in Strava no longer sync to Google Health, whatever your settings, and Strava says it's working with Google on more options.
  • Only activities recorded after you connect are sent. For older ones, export a TCX from the Google Health app (Fitness tab, the activity, the three dots, Export) and upload it to Strava. Google's export page describes that export for GPS exercises.
  • Edits you make to an activity in Google Health after it has synced don't carry over to Strava.
  • Don't record the same workout in Strava and Google Health at once. Both companies list it as a reason activities fail to sync.
  • If an activity doesn't arrive, reconnect, make sure the option to upload activities to Strava is accepted, then sync the tracker or Pixel Watch and wait an hour.
  • Google Health can pull Strava activities in sideways through Health Connect on Android or Apple Health on iPhone, and Google warns this can create duplicate records. On Android, Strava only sends time, distance and calories from GPS activities to Health Connect, so non-GPS workouts won't make that trip.
  • Google says Strava doesn't import Google Health activities from Health Connect or Apple Health, so neither hub is a route into Strava. Use the direct connection.
  • The setup path differs between the two companies. Strava's help article says to start from account settings in the top right; Google's help and its Strava partner page say Connections in the top left. Google's version matches the redesigned app.
  • Neither company says which fields reach Strava. Heart rate, laps and the map aren't listed one by one, and there's no model list beyond Fitbit trackers and Pixel Watch.
  • Google is ending Fitbit Web API support on October 30, 2026 and tells users of other partner apps to reconnect before then. Its page doesn't say whether that affects the Strava connection, which was already rebuilt in May.
