What it costs
Free. Neither Xiaomi nor Strava charges for it.
How to set it up
- Turn on cloud sync first: in Mi Fitness go to Profile, then App settings, then Sync with the cloud, and enable it.
- On iOS, go to Profile, then Connected Apps, and tap the button next to Strava.
- On Android, go to the Profile tab, then Settings, then Third Party Data, and find Strava under Accounts and Authorization.
- Log in to Strava, choose the permissions you want to grant, and tap Authorize.
What reaches Strava
- Exercise data recorded through Mi Fitness, pushed once the activity has synced to Xiaomi's cloud
Limitations and gotchas
- It only goes one way. Nothing in Xiaomi's or Strava's documentation describes Strava activities flowing back into Mi Fitness.
- Activities without GPS data do sync, but Strava says they arrive without the distance data it needs to process them properly. A manual activity is the workaround.
- Cloud sync has to be enabled in Mi Fitness first, or there is nothing for Strava to collect.
- Your watch or band needs to be connected to the phone over Bluetooth, with both apps online.
- Strava refers problems with this integration to Mi Fitness support rather than handling them itself.
