Does WHOOP connect to Strava?

Yes, officiallyBoth directions

Yes. WHOOP has an official Strava integration that runs both ways: cardio activities you record on WHOOP upload to Strava, and Strava activities can flow back into WHOOP to count toward your Strain.

What it costs

Included with every WHOOP membership, on the One, Peak and Life tiers alike. WHOOP is subscription hardware, so there is no unsubscribed mode, but the Strava link itself costs nothing extra and neither source mentions needing a paid Strava plan.

How to set it up

  1. Update both apps, then open WHOOP and go to More, then App Settings, then Integrations. On Android the path is Account and Settings, then Integrations.
  2. Select Strava and authorise the connection.
  3. Choose the directions you want: Import from Strava, Export to Strava, or both, picking which activity types apply to each.
  4. Pick the graphic WHOOP posts alongside the activity: Heart Rate Graph, Strain View or Training State View.
  5. For heart rate to upload at all, open Strava and go to Profile, Settings, Data Permissions, and set Health-Related Data to Access Allowed.

What reaches Strava

  • Activity type, elapsed time and calories burned
  • Heart rate, Activity Strain and Recovery Score
  • GPS data, but only if Track Route was on, or the activity reached WHOOP through Apple Health
  • A chosen graphic: heart rate graph, strain view or training state view

What comes back from Strava

  • WHOOP's own May 2026 material describes the following. Strava's documentation does not yet corroborate it, so treat this direction as WHOOP's account rather than settled.
  • GPS, distance and pace or speed for cardio activities
  • Power and cadence when the original device recorded them
  • Strength sessions with exercises, sets, reps and weights, mapped into the WHOOP exercise library
  • Source attribution, so a ride shows as something like "Garmin Via Strava"
  • Imported activities contribute to your daily Strain

Limitations and gotchas

  • The integration is locked until you finish WHOOP's initial four-day calibration; opening it earlier returns a 404.
  • WHOOP Age, Pace of Aging, ECG and Blood Pressure Insights are never shared with Strava.
  • Recovery activities do not sync, because Strava has no matching activity type.
  • Activities left unclassified, with the type still set to "Activity", are not posted at all. Reclassify them first.
  • Nothing is updated retroactively. WHOOP does not revisit a Strava post once it has been shared, so linking a session to Strength Trainer afterwards changes nothing on Strava.
  • Activities that arrived in WHOOP from Strava via Apple Health or Health Connect are not exported back, which prevents a loop.
  • GPS is unavailable to members whose country profile is South Korea, which WHOOP attributes to regulations.
  • Average and maximum heart rate can differ between the two apps, because Strava trims non-moving time.
  • Editing an activity means deleting it in both places and re-adding it.
  • On strength exports the two companies' documentation disagrees. WHOOP's own May 2026 material describes exporting Strength Trainer sessions with exercises and weights, while Strava's help page still says Strength Trainer activities are excluded. Treat it as unsettled.
