Turns your Strava activities and photos into a printed A4 landscape adventure book: spiral notebook, softcover or hardcover. Connect Strava, or import from Garmin, Komoot or any GPX file, add photos, and it lays out a map, elevation profile and stats for each outing, placing each photo on the route by its timestamp. You can edit the layout and preview the whole book free before paying. Prices include delivery worldwide; there are gift cards, and the site is in six languages.

What is AdvenBook?

AdvenBook makes a printed book out of your outings. You connect Strava, or import tracks from Garmin, Komoot or any GPX file, add your photos, and pick the activities you want. It builds the layout for you: a map, an elevation profile and the stats for each outing, alternating with full-page photos. You change what you want, preview the whole book on screen, and only pay when you order the print.

Every book is A4 landscape (29.7 x 21 cm), in one of three bindings: a spiral notebook for a weekend or a short trek, a softcover for a season or a race, or a hardcover big enough for several years. The site says most people finish a book in under 15 minutes, and that you can take longer and rework everything if you'd rather.

It was started in the Basque Country. The About page tells the story of Benoit, who grew up in Saint-Étienne-de-Baïgorry, recorded his hikes, trail races and rides on Strava for years, and built the first book for himself, and opened the site to everyone after his family saw it. The site is in French, English, Spanish, German, Italian and Basque.

Key Features

Photos placed on the route

Photos from your phone or camera don't have to come through Strava. Drag them in and AdvenBook compares each photo's timestamp with your GPS track to place it at the point on the route where you took it. The Komoot page says the same works for GPX tracks: as long as the photos carry timestamps, they get pinned to the right spot. The homepage also lists Google Photos as a source.

Maps and elevation for each outing

Each activity gets its own map (topographic or satellite, per the Strava page), its elevation profile, distance and climbing. A multi-day trip comes out as chapters: upload a GPX per stage and each day becomes its own section, in order.

Editing and the preview

The editor lets you change the title and cover photo, the order of activities, which photos go in, the text and layout, colours and fonts, and set maps to full screen. You can add dedication pages, special sections such as "4 Seasons", or blank pages for handwritten notes. Importing, the layout and the full on-screen preview are free; the pricing page says no card is needed to see it.

What it costs

Prices are in euros, tax and delivery included, with free shipping anywhere in the world. The price depends on the binding and the page count:

  • Spiral notebook (4 to 48 pages): €39 up to 24 pages, €48 up to 48
  • Softcover (32 to 250 pages): €40 up to 50 pages, €59 up to 100, €75 up to 120, €95 up to 200, €110 up to 250
  • Hardcover (24 to 400 pages): €45 at 24 pages, €70 up to 50, €95 up to 100, €120 up to 200, €145 up to 300, €158 up to 400

Books are printed to order in 3 to 5 business days, then delivered in 3 to 10 days depending on the country, according to the pricing page.

Gift cards

A digital gift card, from €30, emailed to the recipient on the day you choose with your message and a code. It's valid for two years, any unspent balance carries over to a later order, and if the book costs more the recipient pays the difference.

Who It's For

  • Hikers and trekkers who want a multi-day trip on paper, stage by stage
  • Trail runners and cyclists who want one race, or a whole season, as a book rather than a feed
  • People giving a gift. The gift card leaves the recipient to make their own book
  • People who don't use Strava: Komoot users, or anyone with a GPX file

Worth Knowing

The terms say custom-made books aren't covered by the usual right of withdrawal, but the refund policy adds a 30-day guarantee: write within 30 days of delivery and you choose between a free reprint with corrections or a full refund, without sending the book back. The terms name Lulu Press among the printing and shipping partners, and payments go through Stripe.

The site also offers an MCP connector, so an AI assistant such as Claude can draft a book from outings you describe and give you a price estimate and a private link to check and order on the website.

What does it access on Strava?

AdvenBook reads your Strava activities to build the book; the site documents nothing it posts back to Strava. The Strava page says your privacy zones stay hidden on the printed maps and that you choose which activities go in. The privacy policy, written under the GDPR, lists what it keeps (name and email, GPS tracks, photos and stats, delivery address), names Google Firebase for hosting, Stripe for payment and Lulu Press for printing, and says data from accounts inactive for three years is anonymised or deleted. You can ask for your data to be deleted at contact@advenbook.com.

Do I need Strava?

No. You can import from Garmin or Komoot, upload any GPX file, or log outings by hand, and you can mix Strava activities and GPX files in the same book.

How do I get a Komoot tour into it?

Download the GPX from Komoot (open the tour, the three-dot menu, "Download GPX file") and drop it into AdvenBook. For a multi-day Collection, download one GPX per stage and upload them together; each becomes a chapter.

Can I make more than one book?

Yes, as many as you like. The site suggests one per year, per season or per challenge.
