Does Oura connect to Strava?

Yes, officiallyBoth directions

Yes, but narrowly. Oura has an official two-way Strava integration, and the catch is that only workouts you record with Oura's Activity Heart Rate feature travel to Strava. Automatically detected and manually added activities do not.

What it costs

Free with the ring. Oura lists the integration as available on Gen2, and on Gen3 or later with an active Oura membership. No Strava subscription is mentioned as a requirement.

How to set it up

  1. Open the Oura app and tap the menu in the upper-left of the home screen.
  2. Tap Settings, then under Data sharing tap App integrations.
  3. Tap Strava, then Continue, log in to Strava and tap Authorize.
  4. Import and export are both switched on by default.
  5. For Oura's score images to appear on activities, enable the Oura partner integration under Settings, then Partner Integrations, inside the Strava app.

What reaches Strava

  • Workouts recorded through the Activity Heart Rate feature
  • Readiness Score and Activity Score
  • Oura Stickers, which post Readiness, Sleep and Activity scores as images onto an existing Strava activity

What comes back from Strava

  • Heart rate and workouts
  • Imported workouts appear in the Timeline on the Today tab with timing, duration and pace
  • They count toward your Activity Score and your daily activity goal

Limitations and gotchas

  • The big one: activities Oura detects automatically, and ones you add by hand, are not exported to Strava. Only Activity Heart Rate recordings make the trip.
  • Import is same-day only. Oura syncs activities for the current day and cannot backfill retroactively.
  • On Android, GPS maps do not export from Oura to Strava. Oura says this is coming.
  • A workout recorded on both platforms appears once in Oura, keeping whichever data is more reliable.
  • No Readiness Score for the day means no recap image.
  • Both apps need to be opened before midnight, with Background App Refresh on and Low Power Mode off, or data may not import.
  • Oura counts active calories only, not your basal rate, so its calorie figures will not match other trackers.
  • The two companies use different names for the same feature. Oura calls it Activity Heart Rate; Strava's documentation calls it Workout Heart Rate.
