What is MapMyTrails?
MapMyTrails takes every activity you've logged in one area and prints it as a heatmap poster. You connect Strava (or upload files), choose a city or a patch of trails, pick a style, size and material, and it gets printed and posted to you. The heatmap part is literal: the site counts how many times you've been along each street or trail, and the ones you use most come out brighter and thicker.
It's a small family business based in Gothenburg, Sweden. Prices are set in Swedish kronor. Printing happens at a partner lab close to the delivery address, which the FAQ says covers more than 30 countries.
Key Features
Strava or files
Connecting Strava syncs your runs, rides, hikes and the rest in the background, and there's a "Sync from Strava" button for new ones. Without Strava you can upload FIT or GPX files, or a whole Garmin export as a ZIP, which is unpacked in your browser before upload. The FAQ says you don't need an account at all for the manual route.
Filters and framing
Filter by sport (running, trail running, cycling, hiking, cross-country skiing and so on) and by date range, and switch single activities on or off. Then set the map area yourself.
Twenty styles
Twelve map looks (Watercolor, Linen, Dark, Toner, Terrain, B&W, Clay, Japanese Ink, Blueprint, Arctic, Dark Matter and Positron), eight of which also come as a hexagon-grid heatmap. The FAQ also lists heatmap colours, line weights and a text panel with a headline, subtitle, stats (total distance, elevation gain, number of activities) and dates.

Frames come in black, white, natural wood and walnut, with the wood ones at the top of each range. Shipping is extra, depends on the country, size and material, and is shown at checkout. A hi-res digital file is 50 kr; the FAQ describes it as an add-on to a print. Prices default to kronor for Swedish-language browsers and euros for everyone else, and a menu in the header switches between kronor, euros and US dollars, converted at the current exchange rate.

Worth Knowing
Every order is reviewed by hand before it goes to print, and the FAQ says that can add up to 24 hours. The terms put production at one to three business days after that, then tracked shipping; the FAQ puts printing at 24 to 48 hours and delivery at three to seven business days, and delivery estimates at checkout are indicative, not guaranteed, per the terms. Because each poster is made to order, the 14-day EU right of withdrawal doesn't apply once production starts. Damaged or defective prints are reprinted or refunded if you report them within 14 days of delivery. Customs charges for orders outside the EU are on you.
The Strava sign-in has an invite-only state: an account that hasn't been approved yet is told so, and offered email sign-in or the option to continue without an account. The site doesn't say how long approval takes.
