What is My Adventure Maps?
My Adventure Maps is a poster editor that runs in the browser. You connect Strava or drop in GPX, TCX or FIT files, pick the activities you want, and design the map: background style, route colours, a title, your stats, photos. Then you either download it or order a print. It can be a single race, a 12-week training block, or years of runs and rides stacked into one heatmap.
The site is run from the Netherlands (its terms are under Dutch law), and the About section is signed by Pieter, who describes the project as something that grew out of wanting to plot his own Strava activities more precisely. Prices are in euros and include VAT.
Key Features
The Year in Sport poster
Its Year in Sport Wrapped Poster is the same editor with a year filter. Pick a calendar year from your Strava history and every activity from it loads onto the map, then add total distance, elevation gained and the number of activities underneath, plus photos if you want. The page says you can also pull out one standout day, a race or a long ride, and show it alongside the full year. Sports logged in other apps can go in as separate GPX, TCX or FIT files and land on the same map.
Design options
Background maps include colour, terrain, satellite, dark, watercolour, cartoon and relief styles. Routes can be one colour, a gradient, a heatmap, or coloured by speed or elevation, with adjustable width and opacity. Text and stat lines are suggested from your activity data and stay editable, and there are photo overlays. Together Mode puts two Strava accounts on one map. Sizes run from A4 to 50x70 cm, portrait or landscape, and a Save button gives you a private link to finish the design later (when you come back, you reconnect Strava or re-upload the files).
What it costs
- Free preview: a low-resolution download, no account needed
- Digital download: €7.95 for a high-res PNG and PDF
- Wall print: €24.95 (A4), €32.95 (A3), €44.95 (50x70 cm), on 240gsm matte paper, VAT and shipping included
- Heatmap T-shirt: €39.95, printed in the Netherlands
Prints are made by partner printers near the delivery address (the FAQ names the US, the EU, the UK and Australia) and ship to most of Europe, the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan and South Korea. Frames aren't sold; the sizes are standard so shop frames fit.
Race pages and free tools
There are about two dozen race and climb pages (the Berlin and New York marathons, Mont Ventoux, the Nijmegen Four Days Marches and so on) with the course pre-loaded in the editor, and a tools page of free GPS utilities: a GPX/TCX/FIT converter, cropping, merging, elevation correction, snap to roads, and a Strava activity export.
Who It's For
- Anyone who wants a printed recap of their year, with the totals on it, as a gift or for their own wall
- People who'd rather design it themselves. Heatmapster gives you a free file with fewer choices; MapMyTrails prints heatmaps with frames and canvas
- People giving a poster to someone else, since a public activity's GPX can be exported from its Strava page without their login
- Garmin, Apple Watch or Runkeeper users who don't use Strava, through file upload
Worth Knowing
Delivery estimates differ between pages: the homepage says 4 to 8 business days (2 to 5 in the Netherlands), the FAQ 3 to 7, longer around the holidays. Orders go straight to the printer, so the FAQ says changes usually aren't possible once you've paid. The homepage promises a full refund "no questions asked", while the terms exclude change-of-mind returns on custom posters and say refunds aren't possible on downloads once the link is sent; damaged or faulty prints get a fix such as a free reprint.
The year poster page is currently selling the 2025 poster. The privacy policy was last updated in January 2026, and the What's New page was last updated in July 2026.
