What is OnlyPuns?
OnlyPuns watches for new Strava activities that still carry the default name (Morning Run, Evening Ride) and renames them with a pun. You connect your Strava account once, upload as usual, and leave the title alone. Name an activity yourself and it's skipped.
The site says it has been punning since 2022. Its about page lists two people: Simon, listed as the tech guy, and Tegan, the "creative magician", who describes herself as a cartoonist and endurance cyclist. The home page counter showed 566 athletes and 13,268 puns generated in October 2026.
Key Features
Automatic renaming
The home page walks through it in three steps: connect with Strava, do your ride or run, and get a punny title. The example it shows is a run posted as "Morning Run" that comes back as a sprinter joke. The FAQ says it works with every Strava activity type, running, cycling and skiing included, with puns picked for the sport, and that the puns are written by AI from the activity's distance, type and location.
Two styles
Punny is the default: dad jokes, movie references, sport wordplay ("I'm wheely tired"). Roast Your Strava Activity is the other option: self-deprecating titles that roast your performance ("My watch asked if I was still alive").
Titles to copy
If you'd rather not connect anything, the home page has a few running, cycling and ski titles you can take and paste in yourself.
Who It's For
- People who never rename Morning Run and would like something better to show up in the feed
- Anyone who likes a groaner, or prefers being roasted instead
- Not for custom titles. It only replaces default ones, so anything you name yourself stays as it is
What does OnlyPuns ask Strava for?
Its Connect account link asks for read, activity:read and activity:write. That lets it read activities visible to Everyone or Followers and edit them (the write scope also allows creating activities, which the site doesn't describe doing). It doesn't ask for activity:read_all, so "Only You" activities stay hidden from it. To cut it off, remove OnlyPuns at strava.com/settings/apps.
Does it touch the description?
What data does it keep?
The privacy policy (last updated May 2022) says it stores a user token, a user ID and the puns it generated, and that it doesn't sell data. It doesn't say how long any of that is kept.
