What is Scratlas?
Scratlas reads your Strava history and sorts it by place. Every country you have recorded a ride, run, swim, hike or race in becomes a stamp in a virtual passport, with the date of your first activity there, how many activities you did and the distance, and a running tally of countries, regions and continents. The demo shows the dashboard, passport, map and travel history with a fictional athlete, so you can see it before connecting anything.
It went up on r/Strava on September 22, 2026, posted by its maker as a side project, and the post says Strava had recently raised the app's API limit, so more people could try it. The site is independent and says it is not sponsored or endorsed by Strava.
Key Features
Countries and regions
Its connect page says places come from activity start points. After launch, a commenter on the Reddit thread pointed out that an activity crossing a border only counted where it started, and later reported that this had changed, so the connect page may be behind. Regions only exist for some places ("supported regions", in the privacy policy); the maker says on Reddit there is a region, state or province tracker, so an activity outside your home province counts even if you have never trained abroad.
Activity Memories
Scratlas can show the main photo from each activity with the country, like a scrapbook. Per its privacy policy it fetches the primary photo from each activity's details, and no videos. It's on by default, and the policy says you can turn it off without reconnecting.
Passport, map and travel history
The demo's menu has a dashboard, the passport itself, a passport map, a travel history list of activities with their country, and settings.
Privacy
The homepage says "private by design", and the connect page and privacy policy spell out what that means:
- The default permission is
readandactivity:read. Activities set to "Only You", and privacy-zone data, only come in if you chooseactivity:read_all, which you can add later from Settings. - Coordinates are used on the server to find the country or region, then discarded. The policy says they are not stored, logged or sent to your browser.
- Activity summaries, stamps and totals are a cache. Scratlas aims to refresh it from Strava within six days and stops showing it after seven days without a refresh, and expired records are deleted.
- It doesn't create public pages or public maps from your Strava data, and doesn't use it for advertising or AI.
- Disconnect & Delete Strava Data revokes access, deletes the data and gives you a confirmation ID and timestamp.
The policy also lists some product analytics of its own (session starts, passport, country and region views, share actions, and where you arrived from), kept apart from the Strava data and deleted with your account.
Who It's For
- People who race or train while travelling and want the list of countries without building it by hand
- Anyone careful about location data: coordinates are discarded after lookup and "Only You" activities stay out unless you opt in
- Not for road or tile completion. It counts countries and regions, not streets or squares; Wandrer, Squadrats and Cyclonauts do that
