What is Cartorion?
Cartorion turns activities from your Strava account into a poster for the wall. You design it in the browser, download it, or order it printed. Designing costs nothing; you pay for a print-ready file or a paper poster.
Key Features
Five designs
A single route map, a multi-route map, a grid map, a calendar, or a detailed view of one activity. The editor lets you set the line width (thin, medium or large), a light or dark theme, the labels, and kilometres or miles.
Famous races, no Strava needed
If you don't have a Strava account, or want to make a poster for a friend, the editor has a list of famous marathons (Tokyo, Los Angeles, Houston and others) to use with the single route map design.
Gift cards
A digital gift card is $5 and a paper one is $35. You get a print-ready PDF by email with a unique promo code.
Prices
| What | Price | |---|---| | Designing a poster | Free | | Low-resolution download (432 x 576 pixels) | Free | | High-resolution download (3600 x 4800 pixels, 300 DPI for a 12x16 inch print) | $5 | | Enhanced matte paper poster, 12x16 inch (the only size) | $35, free shipping |
Frames aren't included. Payments go through Stripe, and the FAQ says no card details are stored on Cartorion. The low-resolution file is meant for screens and social media; the FAQ recommends the high-resolution one for printing.
Worth Knowing
A Strava account is required to use your own activities: the FAQ says Cartorion can only use activities available on Strava, and suggests importing GPX files into Strava (or syncing another service with a tool like Tapiriik) if your data lives elsewhere. You can revoke access under My Apps in your Strava settings, and the FAQ page has a button to stop staying logged in.
Support is by email at support@cartorion.com.
Can I use Cartorion without Strava?
Only for the famous races in the editor. For your own activities you need a Strava account, and the activities have to be on Strava; the FAQ suggests importing GPX files into Strava first.
Does Cartorion sell frames or other sizes?
No. The poster comes in 12x16 inch only, and frames aren't included. The high-resolution file is sized for a 12x16 inch print at 300 DPI.
