What is SHUTT?
SHUTT is an iPhone app that puts a Strava activity on a photo or video you took. You connect Strava once, open a run, pick a photo or a clip from your camera roll, and the numbers are already on it: distance, pace, splits, elevation, heart rate, the route and where it happened. Nothing to type.
The design is the point. Instead of a template with blanks, SHUTT offers 33 finished looks, each a complete layout with its own type, and new ones arrive with most updates. The newest, Silver, engraves the run on a steel plate that reflects your photo. You can leave a look as it is or take it apart: every block drags, resizes and snaps into place.
It's free, with a small SHUTT mark on exports. The first App Store release was in April 2026, and its version history lists 25 updates between May 5 and October 18, the latest being version 1.0.31.
Key Features
Looks and route styles
33 looks and 49 styles for drawing the route over the photo, from neon and chrome to halftone and stadium boards. The route can also be shown on a map instead (Apple Maps routes are part of Pro). A run that laps the same circuit can draw as one clean lap.
More than 30 stats
Distance, pace, moving time, splits, heart rate and zones, elevation, cadence, calories, weather, the shoes you wore and, if you connect Spotify, the song you were listening to. The splits table scales its bars from your fastest kilometre to your slowest, with an average line and the extremes called out.
Video
The same looks work on clips, and the export keeps the brightness and colour you filmed in. The elevation profile, pace chart, route and live stats can animate as the clip plays.
Your own hand on it
28 typefaces, with colour, weight, spacing and shadow per element. One look finds the person in your photo and cuts them out, so the route and stats pass behind them.
Sized for Stories
Exports in Story (9:16), Post (4:5) and Square (1:1). Save to your photos or share straight to Instagram Stories.
Who It's For
- Runners who post on Instagram and want the run on their own photo rather than a map screenshot
- People who film their runs and want the stats on the clip without typing them into a video editor
- Anyone who cares how the post looks, and would rather pick a finished design than build one
What It Doesn't Do
The site says SHUTT only reads your activities and never changes anything in your Strava account. It isn't on Android yet, and needs iOS 17 or later. It's built around running, but rides, hikes, walks and other Strava activities work too.
Does it work with Garmin, Apple Watch or COROS?
Yes, through Strava. SHUTT reads your activities from Strava, so any watch or app that syncs to Strava works, including Garmin, Apple Watch, COROS, Polar, Suunto and Wahoo.
What does SHUTT Pro cost and add?
On the US App Store, $1.99 a month, $17.99 a year, or $49.99 once for lifetime access. Pro removes the SHUTT mark and opens the premium looks, Apple Maps routes and transparent export. The site and the App Store description also list heart-rate stats under Pro, but the August 28, 2026 update notes (version 1.0.21) say heart-rate traces and zones are no longer limited to premium. Subscriptions are managed in your Apple account settings.
Where is my data kept?
The privacy policy says activity data, your profile and the media you create are stored on Supabase, hosted on Amazon Web Services, and that you can ask for your account and data to be deleted, which happens within 30 days. It uses Mixpanel for usage analytics and Sentry for crash reports, and doesn't sell your data. You can revoke Strava access from your Strava settings at any time.
Is SHUTT made by Strava?
No. The site calls it an independent app made in Valencia, compatible with Strava but not made or endorsed by it.
