What is Strava Collage?
Strava Collage is a Chrome extension for putting a batch of activities into one image or one animation. A week of runs, a month of rides, a marathon build-up, a holiday's worth of hikes: you scan your Strava activities, pick the ones you want, and lay them out as a collage, a grid, or a heatmap of a city on a real map. Then you export a still, a transparent overlay, or a video of the routes drawing themselves.
It works from the strava.com session you're already logged into, the privacy policy says, with no separate account or login. The published extension reads strava.com's own pages rather than connecting through the Strava API, so there's no Strava authorization screen. It's free on the Chrome Web Store; the latest version, 1.12.2, came out on October 26, 2026.
Key Features
Collages, grids and city heatmaps
Arrange routes in a balanced grid or overlay them freely, then drag, scale and rotate each one. Or project them all onto street or topographic map tiles (OpenStreetMap and OpenTopoMap styles) for a heatmap of the activities you picked across a city, with the map dimmed as much as you like.
Routes colored by the data
Draw routes in a solid color or a gradient by pace, elevation or progress, with a handful of named palettes. For laps of a closed course or a crit, it detects the repeats and keeps one clean loop.
Animated exports
Routes can draw themselves with a glowing head, a comet tail or a dot, all at once, one after another, or staggered. An optional stat counter (distance, time, pace, elevation, heart rate) ticks up as they draw. Export as MP4, GIF, or WebM with a transparent background for layering over video.
Recap cards and overlays
Milestone cards add up sessions, distance, elevation gain and moving time. Activity names, PR badges and your own text can go on the image, and transparent PNGs drop straight into Canva, Photoshop, Premiere or Final Cut.
Sizes for wherever it's going
Square, 4:5 portrait, 9:16 for Stories and Reels, 1080p or 4K, as PNG, JPG, GIF, MP4 or WebM. Inside the editor there's also a button to add up to four photos of your own as the background.
Filters
Filter activities by sport (run, ride, trail run, walk, hike, swim), date range and distance, and hide individual activities from a sidebar.
What it reads from Strava
Strava to Strava Collage, read only. Log in to Strava in Chrome, open the extension, and it scans your activities from that session. The privacy policy names GPS routes, distance, duration, activity type and activity identifiers, and the store page's overlays also show pace, elevation and heart rate, so it reads those where an activity has them. The policy says the extension doesn't touch your password, payment details or messages, that processing happens in your browser, and that activity data isn't sent to outside servers. Cached activities and your layout settings stay in the browser's local storage until you clear them or remove the extension.
The privacy policy says it may use anonymous usage analytics (such as Google Analytics) that don't include your Strava activity data or anything that identifies you, and the published extension does include Google Analytics. Map tiles load from OpenStreetMap and OpenTopoMap. The policy describes reading only, and the extension makes no changes to your Strava account.
Like any extension that reads strava.com, it depends on Strava's web pages staying as they are.
Pricing
Free. The Chrome Web Store listing shows no price, and the extension has no upgrade or payment screens.
Do I need to connect Strava or make an account?
No account. You log in to strava.com in Chrome as you normally would, and the extension works from that session. Since it reads strava.com's pages rather than using the Strava API, there's no Strava authorization screen.
Can I make a video of my routes?
Yes. It exports animations of the routes drawing themselves as MP4, GIF, or WebM with a transparent background, with an optional stat counter that ticks up as they draw.
Does it work on my phone?
It's a Chrome extension, installed from the Chrome Web Store into the Chrome browser; the maker lists no phone app, and it doesn't run inside the Strava app.
Is Strava Collage made by Strava?
No. The privacy policy says it isn't affiliated with or endorsed by Strava.
