What is AnyMap?
AnyMap is an indoor cycling app for a smart trainer. Instead of a made-up world, it builds a 3D one from real map data, so you can ride a famous climb like the 21 hairpins of L'Alpe d'Huez, a lap of a race track, the streets of New York or Paris, or the road outside your door. The grade of the road sets the trainer's resistance. Everyone rides in the same world, so you meet other riders on the road.
It's new: it came to the App Store in October 2026, with two updates in its first week. It runs on iPhone, iPad and Android phones and tablets, and on Apple silicon Macs as the iPad app; Windows is listed as coming soon. It doesn't run on Apple TV. The maker is a small company in Stuttgart, Germany.
Key Features
A route builder for any road
Tap a few points on the map and AnyMap finds the roads between them and builds the route, usually in a minute or two. You can also open a GPX, TCX, KML or KMZ file from Strava, Komoot, Garmin Connect, RideWithGPS or Google My Maps. Strava routes have to be exported on strava.com, since the phone app can't. FIT files don't work as routes yet. Routes you add are open to every rider unless you mark them private.
Racing every 15 minutes
A race starts on every quarter hour and takes 20 to 35 minutes, with drafting (stay on a wheel and save up to 45% of the drag) and points at the KOMs, sprints and finish of official races. You can also set up your own race with its route, laps and start time, and there's a live chat.
Workouts, programs and ERG mode
Structured workouts from recovery to VO2 max set the power for you, and a workout builder lets you stack blocks, ramps and intervals in watts or percent of FTP. Training programs run up to 12 weeks, and an AI coach in Premium builds programs and single workouts. ERG mode holds the watts you set. A ramp test or a 20-minute test finds your FTP, and the app checks it after every ride.
Stats and stories
Every ride is saved second by second (power, heart rate, cadence and speed, on the map), with a power curve, time in zones, a weekly streak and your form over time. Rides, weeks and months can be shared as stories, and there are achievements for distance, climbing, races and power. Since version 1.1.0 you can export any ride as a FIT file.
Gear
It works with Bluetooth FTMS smart trainers (Wahoo KICKR and KICKR CORE, Tacx Neo and Flux, Elite Suito and Direto, Saris H3), Zwift Cog with 24 virtual gears, Zwift Click, Play and Ride, Bluetooth heart rate straps and cadence sensors. It doesn't use ANT+.
What it sends to Strava
AnyMap to Strava, upload only. Sign in to AnyMap, then go to Settings, Strava. With auto upload on, each ride goes to Strava as it ends; with it off, you upload a ride from its page. A ride on a route goes up as a virtual ride, which, the maker says, keeps it off the real outdoor segments, and workouts and ERG rides go up as indoor rides. Each carries your power, cadence, speed and distance, and your heart rate if you've agreed to that, with a title and a short text giving the route's name and your averages. For a route ride, the map line is the route's points, not your own location. The privacy policy describes nothing read from your Strava activities, and AnyMap doesn't publish which Strava permissions it asks for. Disconnecting stops new uploads; rides already on Strava stay.
Price
Free to download, and you can ride as a guest without an account (you need one to connect Strava). Premium opens every route, racing, all the workouts and training programs. In the App Store and on Google Play it's $19.99 a month or $199.99 a year, and the yearly plan starts with a 7-day free trial, once per rider. Bought on AnyMap's website it's $16.99 a month or $169.99 a year, 15% less, with no trial.
Who It's For
- Riders who want real places indoors, from a big tour climb to a loop of their own neighborhood
- People who like to race, with a start every 15 minutes
- Structured trainers who want ERG workouts and a plan, with each session going to Strava once you connect it
What it doesn't do
You need an indoor trainer; a smart trainer with Bluetooth works best, and power meters, speed sensors and trainers without Bluetooth control don't work. The maker's pages describe the free tier differently (the App Store lists ERG mode and the FTP tests as free, the help page puts them in Premium), so check in the app what's free today.
Can I get a refund?
Bought on AnyMap's website, you can withdraw within 14 days and get everything back. In the App Store or on Google Play, Apple or Google decide.
